"When Paul Ryan says his priority is to make sure, he's just being America's accountant ... This is the same guy that voted for two wars that were unpaid for, voted for the Bush tax cuts that were unpaid for, voted for the prescription drug bill that cost as much as my health care bill -- but wasn't paid for," Mr. Obama told his supporters. "So it's not on the level."

When Obama and other liberals talk about tax cuts being "paid for," they're presuming the money is theirs to spend. It isn't.

Fair enough. But it is nonetheless true that, in essence, Paul Ryan was casting big votes for deficit spending in the past decade. He had a hand in creating the problem he purports to solve ... in part by using the exact same tool that helped create the problem.
